After reading chapter ten of the Bedford Book of Genres, I feel as if I am slightly more inclined as to what a multigenre project can include. However, I felt that chapter 10 was still vague in explaining exactly what a multigenre project has the potential to be. At least I would be, if not for a great classroom exercise put on by Jessie today in ENC 2135. While this chapter of the book does cover how a project can be spread out through different genres and how different modes can convey the same message, its examples lacked diversity. For example, in class today, Jessie’s exercise really demonstrated how diverse a multigenre project can be. Some of her ideas for a multigenre project even include using a carnival game or an obituary. Chapter 10 simply lacked specific examples of just how varied a multigenre project could be. If it wasn’t for Jessie’s exercise I would probably attempt project three with little knowledge of what my project has the opportunity become.
